The George J. Captain Library is dedicated to providing access to a wide variety of resources to Eastern Shawnee citizens and the public. Our library offers a variety of books, magazines, newspapers, and multimedia materials that are suitable to the interests of all ages. We also offer a wide selection of Native American resources, including books, periodicals, and audio-visual materials. Additionally, our library provides access to several online research databases, offering our patrons access to a wealth of information.

The library strives to be the central access-to-information center for Tribal members and the community. Our catalog of books and materials is available online; please feel free to browse our selections.

Patrons of the George J. Captain Library must have a library card to use library services. Cards may be obtained either by submitting the by stopping by the library. Users may browse the library's website, check out with a valid library card, and download to PC, Mac®, and many mobile devices. Users will need to install free software. For audiobooks, music, and video: OverDrive® Media Console™. To read eBooks, users will need Adobe® Digital Editions. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod®, Sony® Reader™, and many others. Some audio titles can also be burned to CD to listen on-the-go. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!
