Social Services Review Committee
The Social Services Review Committee suggests guidelines for Health and Social Services programs. The group also has input on special cases, reviews suspected fraudulent claims, and determines merit of unresolved appeals.
If a Health and Social Services claim is denied, the tribal member must follow the Denial Appeal procedure for a decision by the Social Services Review Committee:
- A written appeal to the Program Director for reconsideration. You will have ten (10) working days from the date of the written denial to appeal the decision.
- If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction in step one of the appeal, you may submit a written appeal to the Social Service Review Committee. The Review Committee will review your request and notify you of their decision within ten (10) working days from the date of your appeal.
- If the applicant is not satisfied with the decision of the Review Committee, a written request stating the condition of the appeal may be submitted in writing to the Eastern Shawnee Business Committee for consideration at the next regularly scheduled Business Committee meeting. The applicant may be requested to appear at the Business Committee meeting.
